Maarten van Luyn assists the Omni Bridgeway Collective Redress practice with sourcing, assessing and coordinating high value strategic dispute finance solutions throughout Europe, with a focus on group claims and LegalTech solutions for group claims.

Maarten is also a certified business mediator and interim (non-) executive director (which includes assignments on behalf of the Enterprise Chamber of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal). He previously served as Director Collective Redress EMEA with Omni Bridgeway.  Prior to joining Omni Bridgeway, Maarten was the Director/General Counsel of Aegon Netherlands, an international financial services conglomerate. and member of Omni Bridgeway’s Investment Committee. He was also formerly a Partner in the Amsterdam office of leading international law firm, Baker & McKenzie, where he managed an international practice in corporate law & litigation, finance, banking & securities. He was also previously a Partner at boutique litigation firm BarentsKrans, based in The Hague.

In private practice, Maarten specialised in strategic litigation involving regulated industries. He acted in commercial transactions and litigation spanning structured/corporate finance, capital markets, and financial services. 

Maarten holds a Master of Corporate Law from the University of Leiden, Master of Civil law from the University of Leiden,  Executive MBA from Rotterdam School of Management, MfN Mediator certification from The Lime Tree; Post Graduate Program Securities Laws from the University of Nijmegen Grotius Academy and a Business law certificate from the University of Connecticut Hartford School of Law.

Maarten is fluent in Dutch, English and proficient in German.
