Adam Silverman joins Omni Bridgeway as an Investment Manager based in Singapore as demand for dispute finance in Asia is increasing, with more jurisdictions across the region embracing third party funding. Omni Bridgeway is at the forefront of developing the rapidly growing industry. We were the first to fund insolvency claims in Hong Kong and the first to fund arbitration cases in Singapore and Hong Kong. In July 2020, we commenced providing access to justice for Japanese claimants via an alliance with Japan Legal Network and, in February 2021, we helped launch the Indian Association for Litigation Finance (IALF).
Omni Bridgeway is consistently recognised as the only Band 1 funder in the Asia Pacific by one of the legal industry’s leading global directories, Chambers and Partners.
Adam said: “Omni Bridgeway is undoubtedly the market leader for legal finance in Asia and has an unparalleled track record of providing tailored funding solutions to individual claimants, corporates and insolvency practitioners in the region. I am excited to join such an experienced, diverse and globally-recognised dispute finance team and look forward to achieving further successful outcomes for our clients and the Omni Bridgeway business.“
Adam joins the largest dispute finance team in Asia (and the world). The team’s activities span Singapore, Hong Kong, Mainland China, India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam.
Adam will be responsible for identifying investment opportunities, conducting due diligence and monitoring the conduct and completion of cases funded by Omni Bridgeway. Prior to joining Omni Bridgeway, Adam was an Investment Director and then a Managing Director in the Sydney office of another global legal finance provider. Adam’s third party funding experience covers a broad range of arbitration, litigation and insolvency claims, both in Asia and globally. He has worked with individual clients, corporations and law firms on high-value and complex single-case investments, portfolio structures and claim monetisations (judgment / award acquisitions).
Adam is qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong and England & Wales. Before working in legal finance, he was a dispute resolution lawyer for ten years at leading international law firms, mainly in Asia. This included six years in the Dispute Resolution team of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Hong Kong and a secondment to the Litigation and Regulatory Department at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
