Associate Investment Manager (AIM)

Position Summary

Omni Bridgeway is searching for an AIM/Legal Counsel to help meet the growing needs of our business in New York, Los Angeles, Houston, and San Francisco. The ideal candidates are highly motivated and goal-focused individuals who embrace a collaborative, team-based environment. Candidates must have a minimum of 4 years’ litigation experience to be considered for the position (inclusive of court clerkships). Key relationships / stakeholders: Investment Managers, lawyers, claimants

Key role responsibilities

The position involves performing due diligence on cases for potential investment, including delving into the facts and legal issues presented by the cases and exercising good judgment regarding the merits of the cases and their likelihood of success. Legal Counsel then provide legal advice and recommendations to the company regarding the advisability of investment in the cases. The position also includes ongoing monitoring of funded investments, meeting and speaking with lawyers and claimants to discuss litigation finance, conducting general research on legal, strategic, and other issues, and preparing written presentations on litigation finance-related topics.

Qualified candidates must have persuasive communication skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels, both in the legal and business community.  

 

Key required experience, technical and behavioural competencies

  • 4 or more years of litigation experience (J.D. obtained in 2014 or earlier)
  • Training at an AmLaw 100 or trial boutique firm a plus
  • Trial experience desired, though not required
  • Sharp legal analytical skills
  • Strong writing skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Entrepreneurial sprit
  • Self-starter (initiates projects rather than waiting for them to be assigned)
  • Well-organized and good with time management
