Distressed Asset Recovery

Unlock value captured in corporate non-performing loans (NPLs) in the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia, Eastern and Southern Europe by partnering with the MENA Distressed Asset Recovery Program (“DARP”), a joint venture between Omni Bridgeway and the International Finance Corporation (“IFC”). IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, is the largest global development institution focused exclusively on the private sector in developing countries.

Work with DARP to improve profitability, create balance sheet relief and reduce impairments and NPL ratios - by monetizing your NPLs. DARP invests in NPL portfolios and in single NPLs; in addition or conjunction, DARP also offers bespoke, full success fee based NPL asset recovery services. For each NPL, DARP leverages Omni Bridgeway’s unique expertise in asset recovery services such as, global asset tracing, funding and management of international legal enforcement proceedings to pursue debt repayment from delinquent obligors.

Whilst MENA DARP’s original geographical focus was on the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa), the qualifying geographies have been extended to include most countries across Central Asia, Eastern Europe and Southern Europe.

  • Obtain capital in exchange for rights to NPLs and distressed assets
  • Partner with a world-leading asset recovery firm with over 30 years of experience in funding and managing NPL-related recovery and enforcement proceedings globally

  • Non-recourse funding – no repayment obligations for our client should NPL asset recovery be unsuccessful
  • Type and structure of funding can be tailored to the specific recovery services needs of the client
  • Available to financial institutions active in the qualifying geographies
  • Offered via a joint venture between Omni Bridgeway and IFC – two renowned institutions for asset recovery service with global reach

  • NPLs should have a clear link to a qualifying geography* (e.g. the location of a debtor/guarantor, or the seat of our client)
  • (Supposed) unwillingness to pay on the side of the obligors (as opposed to a clear inability to pay)
  • NPL should follow from a legally defensible loan agreement or similar instrument

*Geographic reach continues to expand, please contact us for more information to discuss your needs, including those outside of currently indicated qualifying geographies.
