Dmytro Shemelin

Dmytro Shemelin is an Investment Manager and Senior Legal Counsel based in Omni Bridgeway's Amsterdam office.
Dmytro is a cross-border disputes lawyer responsible for originating, assessing, and managing funded cases with a focus on enforcement matters in EMEA. He brings to this role more than 16 years of experience in international dispute resolution and enforcement.
Before joining Omni Bridgeway, Dmytro was Counsel at leading Ukrainian law firm Asters, where he specialised in major banking fraud litigations, including the largest cross-border litigation case originating in Ukraine (Privatbank v Kolomoisky and Bogoliubov). Earlier, he practiced law at Ilyashev & Partners and Grischenko & Partners.
Dmytro was recognised in both Chambers Global 2022 and Chambers Europe 2022: International Dispute Resolution. He was also recognised in The Legal 500 2021: Dispute Resolution, EMEA.
Dmytro holds a master’s degree in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS) from Geneva University as well as a Master of Law summa cum laude from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. He was admitted to the Ukrainian bar in 2017 and qualified as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales in 2019.
Dmytro is fluent in English, Ukrainian, Russian and proficient in French.
