Niall Watson-Dunne

Niall Watson-Dunne is a Senior Investment Manager, based in Omni Bridgeway’s Sydney office, and is responsible for sourcing and assessing prospective funding opportunities, structuring bespoke litigation finance arrangements, and managing funded class actions and single party claims in Australia and New Zealand to successful outcomes.
Niall is a strong advocate for access to justice and has underwritten some of Australia’s largest class actions that seek to hold corporations to account, pursuing redress on behalf of millions of consumers. Niall’s portfolio of cases include:
- sex discrimination class actions against BHP, Rio Tinto, and the Australian Defence Force;
- consumer law class actions against Qantas and Scenic Tours;
- a data breach class action against Medibank;
- defective consumer goods class actions against Johnson & Johnson in Australia and New Zealand;
- a financial product class action against IG Markets;
- mass tort class actions against the Commonwealth of Australia, Camden Council, and Transpower; and
- a shareholder class action against Mesoblast.
Prior to joining Omni Bridgeway in 2020, Niall was a litigation specialist at Corrs Chambers Westgarth, where he practiced in large-scale, complex commercial disputes and class action proceedings. Prior to this, Niall was an Associate in the commercial dispute resolution team at global law firm, Norton Rose Fulbright. Niall has extensive experience in managing fast moving, complex and document-heavy litigation, and has acted in commercial disputes in the Supreme Court, Federal Court and High Court of Australia.
Niall holds a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) from the University of Technology, Sydney and a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney.
