Beyond Big Law Podcast: From Private Practice to Litigation Finance
Author:
Naomi Loewith
Director of Strategic Partnerships - Canada, Investment Manager and Legal Counsel - Canada

Naomi Loewith was featured in the “Beyond Big Law” podcast for the Harvard Law School and discussed the evolution of her career from private practice to an in-house counsel role at Omni Bridgeway. In her nearly ten years working in litigation funding, Naomi has played a key role in helping Omni Bridgeway develop the jurisprudence in Canada around litigation finance. As a result, she has seen the growth in sophisticated clients using dispute finance as a cost and risk mitigation tool and how the C-suite increasingly uses funding to turn litigation into an asset.

The Beyond Big Law Podcast Series provides students an opportunity to explore careers in the private sector that are outside of typical big law firm practice. Many HLS Alumni have pursued such careers, either immediately or after practicing at a large law firm or in another traditional legal setting for some period of time. Through this program, Alumni come to campus or create podcasts to share their journeys and advise students on different ways to create strategies for achieving fulfilling alternative careers.
