In September, Bentham hosted leading experts, litigators and academics for a roundtable discussion about the role that litigation funding might play in Canada.  The participants explored the legal and ethical issues surrounding litigation funding, and the nuances of the Canadian legal system.  The attendees also discussed the pressures that clients and law firms are experiencing that may be alleviated by litigation funding. 

Bentham has now released a white paper from the roundtable, which sets out the issues addressed and the views of the participants. Canadian Lawyer Magazine notes that the white paper highlights how litigation funding might help large corporations, in addition to facilitating access to justice and helping law firms generate more efficient and reliable revenue.
