Tathra Bushfire
Residents who are affected by the Tathra fire are invited to register their interest
SYDNEY, 23 March 2018: IMF Bentham (ASX:IMF) and William Roberts Lawyers are working together to investigate possible claims for compensation arising from the Tathra bushfire.
We are gathering information from people who have been affected. This information will be used to evaluate whether in the future there may be viable legal claims for compensation, (including losses not covered by insurance).
IMF Bentham invites victims who believe they have suffered loss or damage as a result of the Tathra bushfire, to provide their details through a dedicated, confidential website imf.com.au/tathra.
Once victims have provided their details, they will then be sent a questionnaire asking for more information about their situation. The questionnaire is to be completed and returned to IMF. IMF will then keep applicants updated as to whether any potential legal claims arise. All information provided will be treated confidentially and in accordance with IMF’s privacy policy.
Background
On Sunday 18 March 2018, a bushfire swept through the town of Tathra on the New South Wales south coast. The fire damaged or destroyed 100 houses, contents, caravans and cabins. Many people have been displaced from their homes and may have to spend many months in alternative accommodation.
Our investigations are presently focusing on the cause or causes of the bushfire.
